At the time of the 2010 Census, Hope had a population of 10,095 people (or 44.65% of the total population of Hempstead County). This makes Hope the county's most populous community.

The population of Hope represents 0.35% of the population of Arkansas (which has 2,915,918 people), making it the state's 38th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 10,095 people, the population of Hope decreased 4.91% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 10,616 people).

We originally found mention of Hope in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Hope was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Hope post office opened in 1873.

We also found Hope on a map titled William Bradley Map (1889).
