Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, De Queen had an population of 6,513 people. This is a decrease of 1.23% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 12.97% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, De Queen had a population of 6,594 people (which is 38.66% of the total population of Sevier County). This makes De Queen the county's most populous community.

We originally found mention of De Queen in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for De Queen was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the De Queen post office opened in 1897.

We also found De Queen on a map titled Shell Oil Road Map for Arkansas (1956).
