The community of Sheridan is the Seat for Grant County.

Grant County was founded in 1869. Grant was created by taking area from Jefferson, Hot Spring and Saline Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Grant had a population of 18,287 people. This is an increase of 2.43% since the last Census (which gave a population of 17,853 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Grant represented 0.61% of the total population of Arkansas.
