At the time of the 2010 Census, Prichard had a population of 22,659 people (which is 5.49% of the total population of Mobile County). This makes Prichard the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Prichard was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
