Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Mobile had an population of 188,850 people. This is a decrease of 3.21% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 5.06% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Mobile had a population of 195,111 people (which is 47.24% of the total population of Mobile County). This makes Mobile the county's most populous community.

The population of Mobile represents 4.08% of the population of Alabama (which has 4,779,736 people), making it the state's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 195,111 people, the population of Mobile decreased 1.91% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 198,915 people).
